YOUNGEST COVID-19 PATIENT – The country’s youngest coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient survives, Baby Kobe is just a 16-day-old baby boy.
Some 224,402 people have already died, globally, due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. And the worldwide total number of confirmed cases, as of this posting, is now at 3,141,250. The United states passed the 1-million mark already with 59,446 deaths recorded.
Meanwhile, in the Philippines, as of April 29 DOH COVID-19 update, a total of 8,212 confirmed cases, 1,023 recoveries, and 558 deaths have been recorded. Areas at high risk of coronavirus transmission were put under ECQ while those in low or moderate risk enforced GCQ.
And now, a 16-day-old baby boy, named as Baby Kobe, has successfully survived the danger brought about by the virus after he contracted it when he was just about 5-day-old. He got treated for 11 days and fortunately, the baby overcame such dangerous disease. National Children’s Hospital discharged the baby on Tuesday and was given to his father waiting for him.
Coronavirus disease is a highly infectious disease which was first recorded in Wuhan, China. This is a new strain of coronavirus which attacks not just the lungs and respiratory system but also other organs such as the heart based on previous article. Other serious, mysterious, and dangerous complications it causes is blood clots.
Social distancing, proper hygiene, regular hand washing, and wearing of mask are preventive measures highly suggested by health experts and health authorities in order to contain the spread of the virus. It is spread through droplets and unfortunately, there is yet no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19.
