Inmate From Cebu City Jail Tests Positive for Coronavirus

INMATE FROM CEBU CITY – An inmate from the city jail was confirmed positive for coronavirus or COVID-19.

Currently, one of the cities in the Philippines greatly monitored for the sudden rise in their coronavirus cases is Cebu City. Sitio Zapatera in the said city was considered infected by the Department of Health (DOH).

Previously, in just a day, 82 cases of coronavirus were recorded in Sitio Zapatera. It urged the Mayor to lock down the whole barangay to contain the spread of the disease.

As of this writing, there is now a total of 6,259 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the country. Out of the total number, 409 have died in the battle while 572 have recovered from the disease.

Recently, an update regarding the COVID-19 cases in Cebu cross the surface. Based on a report of Sunstar Cebu, an inmate from Cebu City jail was confirmed positive for coronavirus.

According to the report, the inmate is a male. His swab is one of those 199 swabs taken by the DOH. He is now isolated.

As of this writing, there are still no further information about the matter. More updates may be posted soon.

Currently, the entire Luzon and most provinces in Visayas and Mindanao remains to be under an Enhance Community Quarantine. Most declarations will end on April 30 and the government will have to decide either to extend it, lift it, or make some changes.
