Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) has been implemented by the Philippine government throughout the country to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). With this, residents are not allowed to stay outdoors unless they are essential workers, or to buy important needs and medicines.

Local government units are giving home quarantine pass to every household that allows one member of the family to go outside to buy important necessities. This way, it could reduce the people who go to the markets and likewise, they can practice social distancing.

However, there are still stubborn residents who do not observe ECQ guidelines. Recently, GMA News shared a photo of people flock to the Balintawak market in Quezon City amid the threat of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the photo earned criticism from the online community. Netizens slammed local government of Quezon city including the Mayor, Joy Belmonte and public officials.

Netizens also blamed these stubborn people if the enhanced community quarantine will be extended again and if the coronavirus positive case still continue to increase. They added that using disinfectant and face masks is useless because of “pasaway” attitude of Filipinos.
