Man Makes A Living During COVID-19 Crisis
MAN – A man gets paid to be a personal grocery shopper during the 2019 novel coronavirus crisis.
Some local governments in the Philippines deployed mobile markets so that people can avoid the 2019 novel coronavirus transmission. Celebrities like Pokwang, Bela Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo have offered some helping hand to those affected by the “enhanced community quarantine.”
The daily wage workers and the homeless are among the most vulnerable during the crisis. They could not afford to buy protective gear and bring food for their family due to the lockdown.
Recently, a hardworking man decided to risk himself just to feed his family amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a report from One news, a man named Victor Sandro Espina grocery shopping and wait in line for hours for other people. Before the coronavirus crisis, he works as a driver at a local government office and a habal-habal driver.
The 49-year-old man makes a living through his “pabili service.” Aside from shopping, he also does some errands for a fee. His service fee is P1000. His customers gave him a tip when they are satisfied with his service.
“(This is) for additional income. My first customer gave me P1,300 for their groceries worth P8,000,” Espina said.
According to the report, the man’s customers said they would rather pay him than do grocery shopping and wait in line for hours. Espina spends 8-9 hours daily.
He said he don’t want to wait for anybody’s assistance. He said he has to do something to feed his family. “At least hindi ako naghihintay ng tulong. Nakakatulong ako sa mga nagpapabili, natutulungan din nila ako,” he noted.
We can all hope that the pandemic will end very soon and we can all go back to our normal life.
