In most cases, the coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms. However, it can cause more severe illness to the elderly and people with existing conditions. According to Dr. Aguon, people with multiple comorbidities or those who have more than one chronic disease are especially susceptible to complications from the virus.

Reportedly, the majority of those who are infected recover. As of press time, there were 15 reported COVID-19 cases on Guam and confirmed cases were kept in isolation at Guam Memorial Hospital or in temporary home isolation.
