MAYOR JOY BELMONTE – Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte hits back to her critics and haters after making an announcement amid lockdown.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte is among the most controversial mayors of today amid the health crisis. She has been criticized and accused of lacking effort and being missing in action by the residents of Quezon City. Meanwhile, among the most admired were Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno, at Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto.
Last March 13, the mayor declared the area under state of calamity. And now, it is in a heightened quarantine as the total confirmed cases from their area rise to 29 out of 202 cases of the entire country. And just recently, she made an announcement.
The local government unit will accordingly give out 400,000 food packs every week until the end of the enhance community quarantine will be lifted. And she left this statement to her haters:
“To those who hate me, you are under no obligation to accept any of my projects – housing, education, healthcare, social benefits. That means there will be more for those who truly have faith in me as their leader. But please just show your hatred for me at the polls in 2022 because the people who want to be served and patiently wait for it don’t deserve for their lives and that of their families to be politicized.”
