President Duterte announces entirety of Luzon under enhanced community quarantine.

ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE – President Rodrigo Duterte just announced that the entire Luzon will be under enhanced community quarantine.

Many officials and leaders have already announced community quarantine in various parts of the country and this is brought about by the rising numbers of cases and deaths related to the dangerous and pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-2019). And the very first area to have been put under this state is Metro Manila which started in March 15, 2020.

And now, with the death toll in the Philippines which already climbed up to 12 and the confirmed cases which climbed up to 140, President Rodrigo Duterte announces “ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE” to the entirety of Luzon.

The new quarantine measures is still aiming to contain the spread of the virus. This entails strict home quarantine, suspension of transportation, regulation of food and essential health services provision, and heightened presence of uniformed personnel. This announcement has been made through Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo, March 16.

Moreover, the spokesperson shared that the president is worried over the rapid surge of coronavirus-related cases in the country. This is also what mainly pushed the president through to announce expansion of strict quarantine measure. With this, he also reviews some considerations upon recommendation of total lockdown in Metro Manila.

In a previous report, Manila confirmed 2 new cases of coronavirus – patients are aging 23 years old and 64 years old.
