DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to undergo a testing for the 2019 novel coronavirus amid the increasing cases in the country.

Philippines is one of the countries affected by COVID-19. Currently, there are 49 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines from the previous count of 33.

The Department of Health (DOH) added 16 confirmed cases on the list yesterday. It also revealed that two (2) patients being treated for coronavirus are critical.

According to DOH, the said critical patients had to be intubated to assist them in breathing. The health department has also recently confirmed that a COVID-19 patient in Manila died of the disease.

Amid the increasing cases of coronavirus in the Philippines, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte agreed to test for coronavirus. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he and Senator Bong Go are scheduled for testing today.

According to the Senator, they are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. He and the President just wanted to make sure they are “fit and healthy to engage the public and perform” their duties in the next days.

Based on the report, the trip of the President to Boracay has already been cancelled. It was given another schedule due to the monitoring of the coronavirus cases in the country.

Previously, the Presidential Security Group (PSG) decided for a “no-touch policy” on the President amid the coronavirus threats. On his part, the President is not amenable on the said policy.
