Count of Pinoys Infected w/ Coronavirus in Japan Cruise Ship Increases – DFA

DFA – The Department of Foreign Affairs revealed the latest count of Pinoys in Japan cruise ship who tested positive for coronavirus.

Undeniably, the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 has really put a global concern. It left China under an outbreak and several countries outside the Chinese community got confirmed cases as well.

It was in 2019 when the COVID-19 was first recorded in Wuhan City in China. More than 60,000 people were affected by the disease and at least 1,000 died because of it. Wuhan is now under a lock-down.

One of the countries that is really affected by the novel coronavirus is Japan. A cruise ship that carried a coronavirus patient docked in Japan and the vessel was under quarantine for two (2) weeks.

DFA Reveals Latest Count of Pinoys w/ Coronavirus in Japan Cruise Ship

Previously, a Pinoy seafarer on-board the Japan cruise ship tested positive for coronavirus. As days passed, the count of the infected Filipinos continued to increase.

Recently, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) gave an update on the latest count of Pinoys on-board the Japan cruise ship who tested positive for coronavirus. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it is now at 27 after 16 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 added to the list.

According to the report, the embassy is now coordinating with the Philippine and Japanese government agencies, the company behind the cruise ship, and the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the matter. The DFA assured that the needs of the patient would be addressed and their repatriation would be facilitated.
