Ranking Police Officer Involved in Cellphone Snatching Incident Promoted Again For The Second Time
A ranking police officer involved in a cellphone snatching incident during the Nazarene procession was promoted again.
Police Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan who snatched a reporter’s mobile phone during the Feast of Black Nazarene or popularly known as Traslacion 2020 has been promoted to the second-highest position in the capital region.
Bathan allegedly snatched the phone of GMA reporter Jun Veneracion who was filming while cops and Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau personnel were pushing a devotee to the ground during the chaos.
The policeman ordered the reported to delete the video saying “Burahin mo, burahin mo. Kuha ni Jun Veneracion.”. Nolasco is the chief of the Southern Police District of Metro Manila supervising cops watching over the cities of Pateros, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Makati.
Last week, Bathan has been appointed as the deputy director for operations of the National Capital Regional Police Office. A week later, he was promoted again one office higher as deputy director for administration.
In seven days, Bathan has been promoted twice amid the nationwide reshuffle at the Philippine National Police (PNP).
