Another Coronavirus Case Recorded As Medical Staff in Thailand Tests Positive
MEDICAL STAFF IN THAILAND – A medical personnel in Thailand was confirmed positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus.
Thailand is one of the countries affected by the 2019 novel coronavirus. Recently given the official name of COVID-19, the said disease was first recorded in China.
The COVID-19 is currently having an outbreak in Wuhan City, China. It is believed that the bat soup served in the market has something to do with the disease that left Wuhan under a lock-down.
For several days, there were travel bans covering passengers from China as well in the pursuit of curbing the spread of the disease. More than 60,000 people were infected in the mainland and over 1,000 died of the disease.
In Thailand, 34 cases of coronavirus were recorded. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the most recent one is a medical staff in Thailand who tested positive for the said disease.
According to Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchia, Department of Disease Control’s Director-General, the said medical personnel is a Thai woman. Based on the report, the 35-year-old woman got the disease from a coronavirus patient.
With regards to the coronavirus patients in Thailand who have recovered and were discharged from the hospital, 14 people won the fight against COVID-19. Currently, there are still no further information regarding the other patients. More updates may be posted soon.
