Leila De Lima Reveals Actress She Wants To Play Her In A Biopic
LEILA DE LIMA – Former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima wants this actress to play her in a biopic about herself.
Senator Leila De Lima has been detained for three years now due to her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade during her stint as a justice secretary.
Vice President Leni Robredo and other politicians like Sen. Antonio Trillanes and Riza Hontiveros hoped that she would be cleared of her drug charges so she could fulfill her duties in the senate. Her arrest is non-bailable.
Leila De Lima’s allies launched a committee for her freedom in August last year. Peace adviser Teresita Delez said the committee aims to “aims to be at the forefront of generating, strengthening and heightening efforts” for the politician’s freedom.
“We aim to sustain her international recognition and solidify her status as a national and global leader for human rights and social justice in the Philippines,” she said.
Based on a report from Yahoo, the detained senator already has an actress in mind who could play her in a biopic about herself. She revealed in an interview that Dawn Zulueta would be the perfect actress to play her. The movie would be titled “The Lady Justice.”
“That’s the story of my life, you know, fighting for justice. I want the film to focus on my achievement. My growth and what I have done. Also how I was raised by my parents and how I did my job,” said De Lima.
According to the report, Leila De Lima said the leading man could be Dawn’s onscreen partner, Richard Gomez if there is a romance plot on the film.
“But I don’t want to focus on the love story,” she added.
