Message of Yeng Constantino for Pres. Duterte Amid the Issue about ABS-CBN Franchise Renewal
YENG CONSTANTINO – The Kapamilya singer gave a message for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte over the franchise of the ABS-CBN network.
Currently, one of the top issues in the Philippines is with regards to the franchise of ABS-CBN network. Undeniably, the Kapamilya network is one of the television network giants in the country but its franchise is set to expire in March 2020.
Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte warned not to allow the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise if he has a way. According to the Chief Executive, the Kapamilya network got his money but did not air his campaign advertisement for the 2016 election.
Recently, speaking at the Malacañang Palace, the President raised his warning against the ABS-CBN network. According to him, there are executives who are reaching out to him over the renewal of the franchise. He seemed firm on not allowing it.
In line with the issue, one of the Kapamilya singers, Yeng Constantino, gave a message to Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte over the ABS-CBN franchise. Based on a report on Pep, she recognized the impressive works of the President.
“Sir, saludo po ako sa marami niyong ginagawa tulad ng paglilikom ng mga pondo para sa bansa natin, para sa investment… Nakikita namin yun, and we admire you.
Maybe there are things na hindi agree about. It doesn’t mean na lahat po ng flaws ninyo, nakikita namin,” she said.
Yeng Constantino admitted that she does not know where the issue started. Based on the report, the singer pleaded to Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to consider the welfare of the artists under the network.
“Kumakatok lang po kami sa puso ninyo na baka maaari naman na hindi po maputol po yung source of living namin, Sir,” she expressed.
According to Yeng, she and her fellow artists in Showtime and ASAP do not talk about the ABS-CBN franchise as it is something sad so they prefer to talk about things that are light. She stressed that everyone is sad over the possibility.
