Philippine Wins Gold In Obstacle Course Event in SEA Games 2019
SEA GAMES 2019 – The Philippine team won the gold medal in the 400-meter team assist of the obstacle course race at the SEA Games 2019.
Pinoy athletes got all the emotional boost during the opening ceremony on the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the Philippine Arena on November 30. At least 50 thousand people arrive to watch the parade of the athletes and opening rights.
The Philippines have won several gold medals at the regional meet among them is the gymnast Carlos Yulo, weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, and wushu star Agatha Wong.
Yesterday, December 3, 2019, some of the SEA Games event was rescheduled due to the harsh conditions brought by typhoon Tisoy. Among the games that are rescheduled are beach volleyball, sepak takraw, sailing, and underwater hockey.
Among the sports that are contested in the biennial event is the obstacle course racing. Five nations Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Myanmar will be participating in the event.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, the Philippines bagged the gold for the 400 meters Team assist of the obstacle course race. The event was held at Filinvest City in Muntinlupa. The Philippine team is targeting for four golds in the said sport.
According to the report, the Philippine team captured the gold medal while the Malaysian team won the silver medal and Indonesian athletes got the bronze medal. Filipino athletes earlier assured the first place after 3 Pinays topped the ‘Women’s 100-meter elimination round on December 2.
The PH team is composed of Kyle Redentor Antolin, Kaizen Dela Serna, Monolito Divina, and Deanne Nicole Moncada. They bagged the first gold for today and the 48th gold medal for the Philippines.
