During a press conference at the Negros Press Club, there were 30 employees of the bus company that wanted to testify against the company. According to them, they were allegedly forced to resign.

Based on a report from the Manila Times, the terminated workers said that they wanted to come out into the open. They added that they wanted the public to see what kind of union they had.

In a statement, the former employees spouted claims that they were terminated illegally. This was following the return of Leo Roy Yanson (LRY) as the head of the company.

“We strongly condemned our dismissal from work without justifiable reason and process”, they said. As per the article, the employees were forced to sign blank documents.

They considered this act as an oppressive move against them. The employees added that what they went through was maltreatment.

They said that as individuals, they have rights that are protected by the government and the law. The employees also claimed that they knew the termination was under the management of Leo Roy Yanson.

The employees added that their termination would not have been possible without the connivance of Paciwu-Ceres, their union. They also claimed that Paciwu remained blind to the state of the employees.

In their statement, they also mentioned two names associated with their termination, Franny Santarin, and Hernani Braza. According to them, the silence of their union was led by these individuals.

They added that they were forced to resign and weren’t allowed to return to work. Richie Rimada, a bus conductor for Ceres for half a decade, said that the union should’ve taken a neutral stand.

He added that instead, the union was the first to pledge allegiance to OVY (Olivia Yanson) and LRY. “They were the first to shout ‘We love OVY (Olivia Yanson). We love LRY”, said Rimada.

Maritess Baylosis, a cashier for more than 2 decades made an emotional plea to Olivia Yanson. She asked the family matriarch to help them return to work as they did nothing wrong.

“Our family is getting hungry already. We cannot send our children to school anymore. We are loyal to the company”, said the employees. They stressed that they are not taking sides in the family feud.

They added that they only want to work to provide for their families. According to them, there were also more than 200 employees that were terminated unjustly.
