Israel To Accept 1000 Jobs For Filipinos In Tourism Industry

ISRAEL – Israel would be accepting 1000 Filipinos to work in their tourism industry in the coming months.

According to Israeli Ambassador Rafael Harpaz, their tourism industry would be hiring 1000 Filipino hotel workers. This is possible through government to government agreements.

“In November, Finally we are going to start the process of having Filipinos coming to work in the tourism industry”, said Harpaz. This collaboration would surely benefit Filipino workers.

In a video article, ABS-CBN interviewed a former OFW, Rafael Bonda. She stated that if you talk about a hotel, it sounds more formal.

Ronda also expressed that working at a hotel reduces the chances of OFW’s being mistreated and abused. She then told the interviewers that working at a house is tiring.

According to the video article, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) will process the employments of applicants. This would mean that there is no placement fees.

The salary of the hotel workers could go up to at least 78 thousand pesos. With this, POEA administrator Bernard Olalia said that Filipinos would be working in an established hotel.

He added that the workers would be employed in a reputable hotel. Olalia then said that they could either work as a room boy, doing laundry, or housekeeping in their establishments.

POEA said that they would announce further requirements in their website. However, they added that interested applicants could already register to POEA.

Here are the basic qualifications for applicants.

  • 25 Years-old or above
  • NC2 Tesda Certificate for house keeping
  • Filipino Citizenship
  • Speaks English
  • Physically and Mentally Fit
  • NBI Clearance
  • Industrious and well-mannered

Those who are not qualified are people who have worked in Israel before. Applicants who have family that live or work in Israel are also ineligible.

If accepted, employers will be pay for your fare going to Israel. According to the Israeli Ambassador, the service of the Filipino People are like no other.
