During a media interview, the Robredo stated that what she wanted from military leaders is to study the agreement thoroughly. She then added that they are in the pest position to asses the issue.

Afterwards Robredo said that we must trust that the decision makers will make the right choice. However, she added that the fear still remained.

DITO Telecommunity Corporation is a consortium of Davao businessman Dennis Uy. This consortium includes China Telecom, Chelsea logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp., and Udenna Corp.

Last year, The National Telecommunications Commission declared Misatel Consortium the third major telco group. With regards to this, the fourth major telco has also been announced recenly.

Now Telecom was approved to set up their cell networks. This meant that the company would now be the fourth major player in the Philippine’s telecommunication scene.

The agreement identified where Dito could set up their communications equipment within military camps. However it must not undermine operations of affected units.

According to Manila Bulletin, Robredo showed concern as she learned that Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana had no prior knowledge about the deal. She added that she was shocked to learn Lorenza was unaware of the agreement.

The Vice President also said that they’re not accusing anyone. However they still have their concerns, she added.

She then stated that their concern is because of numerous reports showed that the goal of the telco is information gathering. But then, she said that she still hoped the deal would benefit the majority of Filipinos.
