Marlo Mortel has a new project with Rita Daniela
Actor-singer Marlo Mortel talked about his first-ever onscreen kiss with Kapuso actress-singer Rita Daniela.
Marlo is now in his 17th year in the entertainment industry; however, at the age of 33, it is his first time having a kissing scene in a project.
This happened in Caught in the Act, the Viva Movie Box micro drama series, in which he and Rita are the lead stars. In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, the actor-singer talked about this new project.
Marlo Mortel revealed, “It was my first intimate scene and kissing scene. It was intense.”
He admitted that he did not imagine that his first-ever kissing scene would be that intense, as he thought that it was just like “pa-cute lang.” “Pero okay naman, it was a good one, long take,” he added.
Rita shared that she felt the tension that Marlo had when their director, Temi Cruz Abad, filmed their love scene. The actress-singer was surprised that it was Marlo’s first time doing an intimate scene.
“Hindi ko ine-expect na first-ever kissing scene on screen ito ni Marlo. So, parang ako, ‘Ha? So, you mean to say, ako yung naka-devirginize onscreen?’ Ganoon ba yon, Marlo?” she shared.
However, Rita said that Marlo was able to push through. She also shared that it was a long take, and Direk Temi was able to capture everything that he needed in the scene.
Direk Temi shared that he already shouted “cut” but the actors did not hear him, and so he joked, “Akala ko nga Vivamax.” The director added that he has some reservations since Marlo said that it was his first time.
With this, Direk Temi told Rita to guide Marlo. “Ang sabi ko lang, ‘Bigyan ninyo lang ako ng isang intense na salpok ng halik tapos from then on, gradually, i-tone down,'” the director said.
Then, the director said that the tone down did not happen as the actor apparently did not hear him, and they just continued.
“So, nasa level na ako ng bumubulong na ako sa camera operators na, ‘Puwede na ba? Puwede na ba?’ But then, tuluy-tuloy, so siyempre bilang direktor, you relish kung anuman yung ibinibigay na magandang acting ng artista,” Direk Temi revealed.
On the other hand, the director said that he couldn’t be happier with the scene because it was the only intimate scene in the series.
