Woman Caught on Cam Stealing Newborn From Hospital in Isabela
ISABELA – The closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage captured a woman stealing a newborn from Santiago City, Isabela.
Among the most terrible feelings is losing your own child. This unimaginable feeling is feared by all parents. Some would even say it’s better for them to leave first than losing a child while they’re still alive.
There are some people who have no qualms of taking a child away from their parents. Kidnapping or child abduction is very rampant nowadays.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, there was a woman who took a newborn child from a public hospital in Santiago City, Isabela on Friday, September 13. The infant was sadly taken away from his/her mom that afternoon.
The commander of Santiago City Police Station 2, Police Maj. Reynaldo Balunsat, said the woman initially introduced herself to the mother saying she’s patient’s companion. She asked the new mom if she can carry her baby that was born on Thursday afternoon.
According to the report, the cop said the new mom let the stranger hold her baby and didn’t notice the woman was taking it away from her without consent. She was resting while her baby was being abducted.
“Ipinaubaya naman nung ina na noon ay nagpapahinga… kaya hindi raw niya napansin na umalis ‘yung babae dala ang sanggol,” he said,
The kidnapping was caught on the CCTV footage of the hospital. The woman was seen carrying the newborn child passing the nursing station with a security guard. On the other CCTV, she was seen covering the infant with a black jacket until they got out the establishment.
Based on the report, this is the third incident involving child abduction in Southern Isabela General Hospital. Dr. Ildefonso Costales said they are investigating the possible negligence of the security guards.
“Meron naman kasi tayong sinusunod na protocol, kasama diyan ‘yung dapat may discharge slip ‘yung mga lumalabas na pasyente,” he said.
