PAGASA Monitors New Typhoon in Northern Luzon as Typhoon Hanna Exits PAR
The state weather bureau PAGASA is now monitoring Typhoon Krosa, which is spotted in Northern Luzon as Typhoon Hanna leaves PAR.
On Friday (August 9, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather updates in the country.
PAGASA reported that Typhoon Hanna has already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Hanna has maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 215 kph moving 20 kph at a north-northwest direction.
However, most parts of the Philippines would still continue to experience heavy rains including Metro Manila due to the enhanced southwest monsoon or Habagat.
Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and northern portions of Palawan including Calamian Islands are expected to experience moderate to heavy monsoon rains.
Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of CALABARZON, Central Luzon, and MIMAROPA would have light to moderate monsoon rains.
Meanwhile, the weather agency is also monitoring Typhoon Krosa, which is last spotted at 1,990 km east of extreme northern Luzon.
Typhoon Krosa has maximum sustained winds of 155 kph and gustiness of 190 kph. The weather disturbance is not expected to enter the country’s vicinity.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau also warned the fisher folks over the seaboards of Luzon, Visayas, as well as northern and eastern Mindanao that sea travel remains risky.
