Supreme Court Announces Work Suspensions in All Courts in Metro Manila
The Supreme Court has suspended the work in all courts in Metro Manila because of the inclement weather condition causing floods in many areas.
On Friday morning (August 2, 2019), the Supreme Court announced the suspension of work in all courts in Metro Manila. SC also said that executive judges in other areas affected by the heavy rain may exercise discretion.
The anti-graft court’s Security and Sheriff Services Division said that the employees may go home after finishing the scheduled hearings in the morning.
SC made the announced after heavy rains caused severe flooding in different parts of Metro Manila resulting in traffic congestion.
Makati Area including a portion of Gil Puyat Avenue has been also affected by the flood due to the heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon or known as ‘Habagat’.
The Filipino commuters were also experiencing difficulties because the operations of public jeepneys have been also affected by the flood.
Earlier today, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has also declared the suspension of classes in all levels to ensure the safety of the students.
