Possible Declaration of Martial Law in Negros Oriental Supported by 2 Town Mayors & Visayan Army

Two town Mayors and Visayan army expressed their support for the possible declaration of Martial Law in Negros Oriental due to the killings.

Earlier this week, Malacañang Palace said that President Rodrigo Duterte may declare martial law in Negros Oriental because of the killings happening the region.

Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo explained that the possible martial law in Negros Oriental will be separate from the one declared in Mindanao, which will end on December 2019.

Town Mayors

On Friday (August 2, 2019), the town mayors of Guihulngan and Canlaon agree to support the possible declaration of Martial Law in Negros Oriental.

Mayor Carlo Jorge Joan “Guido” Reyes and Canlaon City Mayor Jose “Batshuk” Cardenas expressed their support for President Duterte whatever decision he made for the province.

The Philippine Army in Visayas region will also support the decision of President Duterte.

Army’s 3rd Infantry Division chief Maj. Gen. Dinoh Dolina said that the army is ready to support the declaration for the welfare of the Filipino people.

Director Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas of Police Regional Office Central Visayas (PRO-7) has visited the cities of Guihulngan and Canlaon.
