COCA COLA SALAD – A Twitter user from New York rediscovered a very old cookbook called ‘Atlanta Natives’ Favorite Recipes’ from 1975.

Cooking is the favorite past-time activity of millions of people. People’s passion for cooking has spurred so many new dishes and recipes that constantly gets improvements to satisfy palates more effectively.

But if you are one of the people who’s not really gifted with the ability of cooking, easy recipes would be perfect for you.

Meanwhile, this cookbook from 1975, featured unusual recipes such as ‘Coca Cola Salad’ and ‘Congealed Potato Salad’.

Twitter user Lizzie O’Leary, found the vintage cookbook and shared its contents on social media which quickly went viral as it sparked hilarity online.

Netizens found the recipes such as the ‘Coca Cola Salad’ unusual.

If you’re interested, the salad’s ingredients include:

  • A pack of orange jell-o
  • a small pack of cream cheese
  • a large Coca Cola (10 ounces, specified)
  • and half a cup of nuts

According to the instructions, this recipe serves four people.

To prepare it, the book says to let the cheese sit in room temperature. To dust jello into the cream cheese and to heat the Coca Cola to boil and pour it over the mix.

It should then be mixed and nuts would be added, left for at least an hour or two and refrigerated.
