Kris Aquino explained her reason for not voting all Otso Diretso senatorial candidates
Queen of all Media Kris Aquino defended herself against criticisms for her choice not to vote all the candidates of Otso Diretso.
Kris, as a sister of former President Ninoy Aquino and the daughter of late prominent political personalities Cory and Ninoy, is known to be a supporter of the Liberal Party.
LP endorsed 8 senatorial candidates for 2019 midterm elections. The group included: Mar Roxas, Bam Aquino, Chel Diokno, Pilo Hilbay, Samira Gutoc, Romulo Macalintal, Erin Tanada, and Gary Alejano.
On the other hand, no one from the Otso Diretso candidates made it to the magic 12. In line with this, LP President Senator Kiko Pangilinan decided to resign as he held himself accountable for their defeat. However, Vice President Leni Robredo, the Party’s chairperson did not accept his resignation.
Apparently, Kris Aquino was one the voters who did not vote for some of the LP’s senatorial candidates.
In a previous report, she mentioned that she only voted 4 politicians from Otso Diretso, 2 from the administration’s slate and another 2 who were independent candidates.
Because of this revelation to her social media followers, a netizen who is apparently and LP supporter slammed the Queen of all Media.
“Otso diretso is LP. We’ve done so much work defending LP, you and your family from bashers. The least you can do is set aside your personal issues and think of the implications of not having a strong and solid opposition in this circus govt. People are dying and you voted for the admin lapdogs. Wow,” Instagram user @usrnameisinvalid commented.
With this, Kris Aquino explained her side. She said that it has been sickening on his part to be blamed for the sins that her family did not do.
Kris also pointed out that her choice is personal because she is tired of being silent as they paid the sins of other people.
