CamSur Native is First Pinoy Mayor In United Kingdom
PINOY – The new mayor of Charming town in West Sussex, England in the United Kingdom is a Filipino.
Lots of Filipinos migrated in the United Kingdom to work, study, or settle down. They like this country because they pay a bigger wage and a good benefits package.
Aside from the good salary, the weather in that country is much desirable and most of its people are nice and decent.
In 2017, 80,000 registered nursed was needed in the United Kingdom. In a previous article, the Kings Commercial recruitment chief Mathew Richards said some good things about the Filipino nurses.
“Nurses in the Philippines have a general caring nature, provide a high level of empathy and compassion towards patients,” said Richards.
Now, a Filipino made a name in the United Kingdom. Camarines Sur-born Danny Favor was hailed as the new mayor of East Grinstead town in West Sussex.
Based on a report from GMA News, the Pinoy politician served the said town as a councilor for three (3) terms.
Danny Favor said it was a huge honor for him to be elected as the first ever Filipino mayor in the United Kingdom.
The Pinoy’s election came almost the same day as the 2019 mid-term elections in his homeland.
On the Facebook Page of the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom, they shared several photos of the Filipino politician being awarded.
