According to the article published by the Summit Express, the recruiters from the UK and the UAE have recently announced that they are hiring at least 100,000 registered Filipino nurses.

This action is an immediate response to the gradual increase in demand for health care workers in their respective countries.

As mentioned in the report, these countries prefer Pinoy nurses due to their “skills, attitude and values when it comes to working.”

Due to Brexit, the UK has 80,000 vacancies for registered nurses for many of their nurses are either retiring or returning to their home countries for the next 15 years, stated by Kings Commercial recruitment chief Matthew Richards.

Thus, they find it hard to persuade people to go into the nursing profession because of Brexit.

Brexit is the UK’s used term as they have intended withdrawal from the European Union.

“Nurses in the Philippines have a general caring nature, provide a high level of empathy and compassion towards patients,” said Richards.

Once hired, a nurse in UK can possibly earn P110,000 monthly, a leave for 27 days, nurses can bring their families with them and have “access to free health care and education provided that they can show evidence that he or she can support the family.”

Applicants are required to take English language proficiency tests and practical examinations and has to adjust to British nursing culture.

Meanwhile, the UAE is in need for at least 20,000 registered nurses, which is just in Dubai alone because the emirate has plans to build 15 more hospitals in the next three years.

Nurses in this country can earn a tax-free P100,000 per month, has a guaranteed salary increment for every two years, and migrant workers have 30-day annual leave, sick leaves, and overtime pay.
