Fashion world mourns for the death of Karl Lagerfeld
Fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld dies at the age of 85 and the world of fashion mourns for losing someone as legendary as him.
Lagerfeld is known to be the creative director of prominent fashion brands Chanel and Fendi.
A month ago, fashion enthusiasts noticed his absence at Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week shows. Reportedly, Chanel said in a statement that Lagerfeld was feeling tired during that time.
He reinvented the Chanel codes created by founder Gabrielle Chanel. This includes the Chanel jacket and suit, the classic little black dress, the quilted handbag and more, based on E! News’ report.
“It is with deep sadness that the House of Chanel announces the passing of Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director for the Chanel Fashion House since 1983,” the fashion house said in a statement.
Chief Operating Officer of the brand, Alain Wertheimer, also expressed his appreciation to the contribution of Karl Lagerfeld to the industry of fashion.
