FRENCH BAKER – Prominent pastry shop The French Baker released an official statement regarding the viral incident involving its manager and ex-employee.

Recently, a video taken at a pastry shop, The French Baker, went viral on social media. It was posted on the Facebook page Viral PH. The said video showed a manager and a friend of its ex-employee arguing.

Based on the post, the manager allegedly humiliated the former employee of the pastry shop and refused to sign her clearance following her decision to resign.

According to the former employee who identified herself as “Ruby Mae”, the manager allegedly shouted at her putting her in an embarrassing situation. She was with a friend when she visited at the shop to check on her clearance.

On the part of the of the manager of The French Baker SM City Bacoor branch, she could be heard saying in the viral video that the ex-employee got lots of absences and lates so she is holding her clearance.

The viral video elicited different reactions from the netizens. Some bashed the manager over her behavior towards the former employee.

On the other side, there were netizens who reached out to Philnews.ph defending the manager and stressing that the viral video does not show the whole story. Philnews.ph has expressed its willingness to hear the side of the manager.

Recently, The French Baker has broken its silence on the viral video involving its manager and ex-employee. The pastry shop released an official statement on its Facebook page.

In its statement, The French Baker expressed that the issue between its manager and ex-employee has already been resolved. According to the pastry shop, the clearance of its former employee has been signed yesterday.

Furthermore, the pastry shop also stressed in its statement that it does not tolerate such incident thus “necessary disciplinary sanctions” based on their Code of Discipline would be implemented on the manager involved in the incident.
