Guatemala, Mexico Hit by Earthquake with 6.5 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – A quake with a magnitude of 6.5 recently hit Guatemala and Mexico.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
One of the latest strong quakes recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) is the 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental, Philippines.
There were expected aftershocks due to the said quake and a tsunami advisory was released.
Recently, the National Seismological Service of Mexico has also recorded a strong quake. Based on a report

Based on the report, the 6.5 magnitude quake hit at the border of Guatemala and Mexico, 37 kilometers or 23 miles southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo in Chiapas, Mexico.
Even the El Salvador and the Mexico City which are far from the area felt the quake. It caused the swaying of tall buildings in the capital of Mexico. Thousands of people were also evacuated for safety reasons.
According to the authorities, the quake left three people in Guatemala wounded and rockslides that blocked three highways in the place.
