The feast of the wooden statue has been already a part of the Filipino culture and tradition celebrated every January of the year.
Several devotees suffered injuries due to the massive numbers of people attempting to touch and wipe their towel on the wooden image.
Some people attending the annual Traslacion believes that the wooden statue could bring good luck and heal diseases.
Recently, the Facebook page “Long Mejia” has uploaded the photo some men drinking an alcoholic beverage after attending the Traslacion.
The male devotees are called “Debote” for drinking beer “Red Horse” after participating the yearly religious event.
