Tropical Cyclone Names for 2019 Released by PAGASA
Here is the list of tropical cyclone names that the public may expect for the year 2019 released by the state weather bureau PAGASA.
On Wednesday (January 2, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the local names of tropical cyclones for this year.
About twenty tropical cyclones usually enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) every year and ten of them develop into a typhoon.
Typhoons usually make a landfall over the Eastern Visayas, Bicol Regions, and Northern Luzon but southern section of Minadao is largely free of tropical cyclones.
PAGASA is the weather agency tasked to monitor the daily weather updates in the country and giving local names of tropical cyclones entering the country’s vicinity.
Recently, the weather agency has released the local names of tropical cyclones when they have already entered PAR.
