PCG Released Latest Updates On Numbers of Stranded Passengers Due To Tropical Depression Usman
The numbers of stranded passengers due to the effects of Tropical Depression Usman increased, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
Tropical Depression Usman is currently lashing some parts of the country with strong winds and heavy rains.
Usman packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 65 kph was expected to intensify into a tropical storm before making a landfall over Eastern Samar.

Recently, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported the increasing numbers of stranded passengers due to the weather disturbance.
About 15,788 passengers in different sea ports nationwide are now stranded because of the inclement weather condition brought by Usman.
Aside from the passengers, 1,464 rolling cargoes, 114 vessels, and 24 motorbancas are also stranded.

Here are the numbers of stranded passengers in various areas:
- National Capital Region-Central Luzon – 1,049 passengers
- Central Visayas – 1,164 passengers
- Southern Tagalog – 1,733 passengers
- Western Visayas – 942 passengers
- Bicol – 5,047 passengers
- Eastern Visayas – 5,017 passengers
- Northern Mindanao – 453 passengers
- Southern Visayas – 383 passengers
PCG advised all its vehicle units to strictly implement the Memorandum Circular Number 02-13 containing the guideline regarding sea ventures during bad weather condition.
