A Series Of Earthquakes Rocked Negros Island, According To PHIVOLCS
NEGROS ISLAND – On Sunday (December 9), the Negros Island recently faced a couple of earthquakes, yet no damages were reported.
As reported from Philstar, the first earthquake’s magnitude measured at 4.7, and took place at exactly 1:10PM. Its epicenter was located 19 kilometers southwest of Pamplona town. The earthquake was felt at Intensity 1 in Dumaguete City, and Intensity 3 in Sibulan, in which both of them are areas from Negros Oriental.
On the other hand, La Carlota, a city from Negros Occidental felt the earthquake at Intensity 1.
As per the report, about 30 minutes after the first earthquake, another one was felt in the same area. The quake measured at magnitude 3 and was located 17 kilometers from Pamplona. The quake was felt at intensity 1 in Sibulan.
Fortunately, albeit being rocked by two earthquakes, no damages or aftershocks were reported after the tremor.
