PNP Considers Age And Health Of Rep. Imelda Marcos Should They Arrest Her

REP. IMELDA MARCOS – The Philippine National Police (PNP) are preparing as the court decides to take Rep. Imelda Marcos under custody.

Previously, an anti-graft list of criminal cases against Marcos has been shown. It contains all the cases issued against the former First Lady. Again, Marcos is sentenced to 6-11 years of imprisonment for every count of grant. The Sandiganbayan issued a warrant of arrest on the Ilocos Representative.

However,  PNP chief PDG Oscar Albayalde said that they haven’t been notified for the advance coordination with the court regarding the release of the arrest warrant.

A report from UNTV News states that in consideration of Marcos’ age and health condition, they have not ordered personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to wait at the gates of Congress like what they did to Senator Antonio Trillanes, Albayalde further said.

Regardless, Albaylde ordered the CIDG director to lead the arrest as soon as the warrant of arrest is released.

As per the report, Marcos lalso get perpetual disqualification from holding public office. She, however, can still post bail for her provisional liberty as graft is a bailable case.
