In his official statement regarding his resignation as the Darna director, Erik Matti said that the iconic Pinay superhero is too personal for him.

He also thanked his staff and crew who worked hard in making the movie creatively beautiful. The director also gave a message to the lead actress.

“Thank you for the dedication and commitment. I’m sure you’ll be a kickass Darna,”he said to the her.

Recently, Liza Soberano broke her silence on Erik Matti leaving Darna.

Apparently, they had dinner together. Liza was with her manager Ogie Diaz.

Her caption was a message to the former director of her superhero movie.

“Thank you so much for everything direk @erikmatti!!! ❤️ This dinner really meant alot to me. Still hoping for a future project with you,” the young actress said.

This goes to show that Liza Soberano has no ill feeling towards the decision of Erik Matti to leave Darna.

In line with this, several social media followers of Liza expressed their thoughts.

“Work with other directors and other artists in other genre. You’ll be more enriched in other areas or skills without you knowing it. Love you Inday,” IG user @gospelofbing said.

“Sayang talaga coz only Eric Matti can do justice to a Darna movie,” IG user @rowenabarbaso commented.
