Free Screening & Check-up On October 2018 Announced By PhilHealth

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announced that they are offering a free screening and check-up on October 2018.

PhilHelath announces its new program ‘Expanded Care Primary Benefits’ allowing its members to avail a free screening and medical check-up next month.

The health institution introduces the ‘premium adjustments’ changing the 3-month contribution to 6 months before their members could avail the benefits.

Free Screening

“Hindi naman maganda para sa funding natin na kung kailan lang kayo mag-a-avail ng in-patient hospital benefits, eh diyan lang kayo magbabayad.” PhilHealth Spokesperson Shirley Domingo said.

About 30 million Filipino people will benefit from the ‘Expanded Care Primary Benefits’ wherein a PhilHealth member or its dependents can avail a free medical screening and check-up.

The medical organization also allocates an amount of P800 worth of medical screening and maintenance medicines for diabetes and diabetes for every family annually.

The senior citizens could also avail free medication in public hospitals although they have no PhilHealth contribution.

However, the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are not included in the benefits but there’s a proposal to include PWD on the beneficiaries of the National Health Insurance Program.

The institution would also issue the list of PhilHealth’s partner healthcare facilities, hospitals, diagnostic centers, and drug stores wherein its members could avail the benefits.
