Public Hospitals Under ‘Code White’ Ahead Of Typhoon Mangkhut, DOH Says
The Department of Health (DOH) has declared the public hospitals under the ‘Code White’ alert ahead of upcoming Typhoon Mangkhut.
The public hospitals in North Luzon particularly in Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley are now under code white alert due to the impending typhoon.
DOH Secretary Francisco Duque ordered the hospitals to keep their generator totally functioning and see to it that all the doctors and medical staff are ready in case of emergencies.
The health department would also provide additional medicines in the two regions to ensure that they have sufficient stocks.
Code White Alert refers to the readiness of hospital manpower to respond to any emergency situation.
Hospital emergency service, nursing, and administration personnel staying at the hospital dormitory should be on an on-call status for a quick emergency response.
Typhoon Mangkhut was expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday afternoon September 12, 2018).
Mangkhut will be locally named “Ompong” once it entered the country’s area of jurisdiction, according to PAGASA.
The weather agency that Mangkhut is expected to develop into a super typhoon a little bit weaker than Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
