Robin Padilla has this strong statement against his fellow senators
Senator Robin Padilla defended Senator Rodante Marcoleta but he said that in the Senate there are a lot of “abog*go.”
Padilla joined the surprise rally organized by religious group Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) to defend Marcoleta. This happened after reports stated that plunder charges will be filed against Marcoleta, who is a member of the said religious group.
During the rally, Padilla claimed that the International Criminal Court (ICC) also has an arrest warrant against him in connection with allegedly helping Senator Bato dela Rosa escape from the Senate premises following the shooting incident in the building.
However, Sen. Robin Padilla stressed that he did not help his fellow senator escape. He said that they just walked and rode on vehicle in front of a thousand policemen.
Also during the rally, Padilla called out to Filipinos not to be nonchalant about the issues, not to be selfish and not to think of themselves only. He encouraged everyone to take part, voice out their opinions, and do something, because he, himself is sacrificing for his countrymen.
According to a report from Abante News Online, Padilla also made a recent controversial statement involving his fellow senators who are also lawyers. He praised Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, whom he said is a good person.
“Alam n’yo po, wala pa po akong nakilalang isang disenteng tao na katulad ni ka-Rodante Marcoleta. Iyan ho ang isang senador na napaka-humble! Hindi kailanman ipinagyabang na siya ay abogado,” the actor-politician said. Then, Robin Padilla said, “Marami kaming kasama [sa Senado], abog*go!”
Aside from Marcoleta, Senators Chiz Escudero, Pia Cayetano, Alan Peter Cayetano, and Kiko Pangilinan are also lawyers. As of this writing, no one from these lawyer-senators has reacted to Padilla’s statement.
