Crazy Rich Asians: Warner Bros. PH Releases Film’s Record-Breaking Box-Office Results

Here’s the record-breaking result of  Hollywood film Crazy Rich Asians.

CRAZY RICH ASIANS – The Warner Bros. finally released the record-breaking box-office results of the rom-com “Crazy Rich Asians”.

The book “Crazy Rich Asians” is a novel written by Kevin Kwan which gathered worldwide recognition that it was even adapted to a Hollywood film.

One of the casts is Kris Aquino portraying the character of Malay Princess Intan. She was even hailed as the Best Dressed during the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ premiere.

And the film is definitely a success!

In a report from ABS-CBN, the film remained on top for two consecutive weeks after hitting the cinemas.

The film debuted $26.5 million on its first week and dropped to a tiny percentage to $24.8 million the following week.

And in the Philippines, the film had P82.7 million on its opening weekend.

“It’s been a CRAZY wkend, as #CrazyRichAsians opens to record-breaking box-office results: Opened at #1 this wkend with P82.7 million, making it WB’s BIGGEST OPENING WKEND this 2018, and BIGGEST OPENING WKEND FOR A FOREIGN/ENGLISH ROM-COM of ALL-TIME.”

Kris Aquino, on her Instagram post, also shared the film’s success expressing how grateful she is for being a part of the Hollywood film.

“‘I have so much admiration and new appreciation for you. You have survived and endured so much, with grace.’ 2 sentences from a recent conversation i shall forever treasure… i was reaching out to a man who touched my life w/ genuine friendship & kindness… i’ve survived enough storms to know that hearing encouraging words when your humanity deserves acknowledgment,” she wrote.

Moreover, “To those who are like me, those who read the trilogy, watched & fell in love w/ @crazyrichasians– you answered my prayers because [Kevin Kwan], [Jon Chu], & [WB Pictures] deserved to feel our gratitude for shining a special light on us Filipinos, the “superfans” in Kevin’s words.”
