Negros Occidental Mayor Responds To Sender of Alleged “Death Threats”
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL MAYOR – La Castellana, Negros Occidental Mayor Rhumyla ‘Mhai-Mhai’ Nicor-Mangilimutan claimed she received “death threats”.
Recently, the public was alarmed by the series of deaths of politicians. Based on a report, one of those who died after being shot by an unidentified person is Tanauan City, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili. He was shot during a flag-raising ceremony in front of the city hall.
Mayor Halili fell on the ground and some men helped him and rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, the politician was declared dead on arrival. His death was followed by the death of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote who was also shot.
Aside from Mayor Halili and Mayor Bote, two vice mayors were also recently shot by unidentified persons. According to a report, Trece Martires, Cavite Vice Mayor Alex Lubigan was shot in front of the Korean-Philippines hospital in his town.
Recently, Sapa-Sapa Town, Tawi-Tawi Vice Mayor Al-Rashid Mohammad Ali was also shot in Zamboanga City. His car was slowed down by a traffic when an unidentified person shot him.
Many people now are fearing for the lives of the politicians after a series of unfortunate incidents. Recently, on Facebook, a video of La Castellana, Negros Occidental Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan was posted on the page Brigada News Bacolod.
Based on the post, the said Negros Occidental Mayor is receiving “death threats”. She expressed that she was warned of being the next target after Mayor Halili and Mayor Bote. The lady mayor allegedly responded to the sender of the threats “go” as she does not care.
The Negros Occidental Mayor expressed that she has been receiving warnings since she sat as the Mayor of La Castellana but she was silent about it. Based on the post, she just looks at the threats as jokes and something used to irritate her.
