Another LPA May Intensify Into Storm This Week After Tropical Storm Florita, PAGASA Says
The state weather bureau PAGASA is now closely monitoring a low-pressure area that may intensify into a storm this week.
On Monday (July 02, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that a low-pressure area has been spotted over the east coast of the country.
The LPA may intensify into a storm in the next 3 days and might bring rain during the weekend over some parts of Luzon.
PAGASA meteorologist Aldczar Aurelio said that the expected storm comes after severe tropical storm Florita left the Philippine area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday (July 01, 2018).
The weather agency reported that the southwest monsoon will bring occasional heavy rains over Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, Mindoro, Romblon and Western Visayas.
PAGASA also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides.
The weather bureau also said that localized thunderstorms would affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
