DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II Resigns from Office
DOJ SECRETARY AGUIRRE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte accepted the resignation of Department of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II.
Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was disappointed by the decision of the DOJ to dismiss the charges against alleged drug personality Peter Lim and self-confessed drug dealer Rolando ‘Kerwin’ Espinosa Jr.
Based on a recent report in Inquirer, after the Malacañang revealed the side of the Chief Executive over the decision of the justice department, DOJ Secretary Aguirre filed for resignation.
According to the report, during his speech at the awarding of the outstanding farmers, fishermen, and coastal communities in the Palace, Pres. Duterte announced that he has accepted the resignation of Justice Sec. Aguirre.
According to President Duterte, he is now looking for someone who will replace Aguirre. The President reportedly did not provide further information regarding the resignation of then DOJ Secretary Aguirre.
