Elderly Woman In Viral Video Of Snatching Incident Gets Birthday Gifts From Social Media Users
The elderly woman identified as Emma Dongosa in the viral video of a snatching incident gets a birthday gift from the netizens.
Last week, the video footage of a snatching incident spread like a wildfire online after it was posted on the social media. The victim was identified as Emma Dongosa, a 68-year-old snack vendor at Andres Bonifacio Elementary School in Bacolod City.
On Monday (February 05, 2018), the viral grandma has marked her 69th birthday, which is supposed to another ordinary day but concerned netizens make it special.
Anonymous donors who refused to reveal their identity sent a television set, ABS-CBN TV plus, and groceries for Lola Emma.
The unidentified donors said that they were touched by the story of the elderly woman who was victimized by a female snatcher prompting them to coordinate with ABS-CBN Bacolod station to facilitate the gifts for Dongosa.
The old snack vendor was surprised to see all the gifts came from the people she did not even know. She also showed her vintage TV, while few of her friends prepared pancit and bread for her special day.
Lola Emma gave away candies and bread to school children in return for all the blessings she received.
“Thank you everyone for the gifts. God will surely bless you for making me happy. A big thank you to the guy who took the viral video. I may not know you but you made all of this possible,” Dongosa said quoted by ABS-CBN.
Emma lives alone in a shanty in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City because she became a widow at the age of 29 and her two daughters have their own families.
The elderly vendor continues to sell fruits outside the school to provide her everyday necessities.
