Filipino Boxing Icon Manny Pacquiao Opens Talks To Fight MMA Fighter Conor McGregor
The Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao said that he has opened talks to fight the MMA fighter Conor McGregor in April next year.
Previously, the Pinoy boxing champion and now Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao seems to be teasing a real boxing match with the mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor on his Instagram post last month.
However, the Irish fighter did not give an immediate response or ay comments regarding Pacquiao’s IG post.
On Friday (December 08, 2017), Pacman said that he has opened talks to fight McGregor in April 2018 during his long break from his legislative duties.
The reporters asked the lawmaker regarding the reports he was seeking a match with the 29-year-old MMA fighter. Then Pacquaio answered “If we can negotiate it, I have no problem. It is OK with both of us.”
The Pinoy boxer also they had initially approached McGregor’s camp for a fight but had not yet any follow-up conversation regarding the proposed match.
Pacquiao also stressed that the MMA fighter is just one of his many possible opponents for his next fight after losing his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title to the Australian boxer Jeff Horn last July.
The Philippine Senator also said that he could have a rematch with Jeff Horn or fight the American boxer Keith Thurman, the current WBC welterweight and WBA Superwelterweight title holder.
