The Main Suspect In Fatal Hazing Of UST Student Voluntarily Surrenders Himself To Authorities
One of the main suspects on the fatal hazing of Horacio Castillo III, a student at University of Santo Tomas has voluntarily surrendered.
John Paul Solano is one of the primary suspects in the death of a UST law student and a part-time medical technologist Horacio Castillo III. He was the one who found the wounded body of the hazing victim.
Solano has been dubbed as a “Good Samaritan” after rushing the latter’s wounded body to the Chinese General Hospital but eventually tagged as one of the main suspects due to inconsistencies in his statement.
The alleged primary suspect has been also a reported member of the Aegis Jvris fraternity.
Around 2 pm on Friday afternoon (September 22, 2017), UST Civil Law Dean Nilo Divina, Lacson, and police met with John Paul Solano at the office of Sen. Panfilo Lacson in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
Solano wearing a cap, black shirt, and a jacket has voluntarily and peacefully surrendered himself to the authorities, which was facilitated by Divina.
On Wednesday (September 20, 2017), the UST Civil Law dean was reportedly contacted by the family of Solano and asked that Lacson lead the surrender.
Meanwhile, Ralph Trangia another suspect on the fatal hazing has already left for Taiwan, according to the Bureau of Immigration. Both Trangia and Solano was under an immigration lookout bulletin.
