Mindanao State University continues class amid intense firefight.
MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY – The class opening of the Mindanao State University pushed through despite the intense firefight that is still ongoing in Marawi.
According to the report of the GMA News, the class in MSU was marred because of the firefight between the military and the extremists.
The firefight according to the report was just a few kilometers away from the educational institution and was initially postponed but then was still pushed through only that it was delayed for a bit.
Even the buses that were supposed to fetch the students which have been canceled have been redeployed.
The said fight had started early and ended around 7 in the morning.
There were at least 7,000 students who are staying in the dormitory of the state university.
Captain Jo-ann Petinglay, spokesperson of Joint Task Force Marawi informed that the fight took place at least three kilometers away from MSU.
The officials of the Mindanao State University have been preparing the opening of cl(–foul word(s) removed–) for weeks.
They have already prepared a program for the “Balik Escuela” and has already made an announcement over the creation of a “steering committee” in celebration of MSU’s 56th founding anniversary.
Meanwhile, due to the ongoing firefight, checkpoints around the towns of Marantao was intensified.
The war in Marawi may seem to be unending but the officials and the troops as they advance to the position of the extremists trying to get the Marawi, are doing their best to end the battle.
They are expecting that the resolution of the conflict in this terrorist-stricken place will be as soon as possible or as per their expectation, by the end of the month.
