3 Out Of 5 Judges Appointed By WBO To Review Score Cards Of Pacquiao-Horn Match

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has tasked their 3 out of 5 judges to review the controversial Pacquiao-Horn score card.

Last July 02, 2017, the Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and the Australian boxer Jeff Horn show off their boxing skill inside the ring. The fight between the two great boxers was too close, but only one won the victory.

Unfortunately, Pacman loses his WBO Welterweight Title belt after the judges declared Horn as the new title holder via unanimous decision. Most of the boxing fans and some popular celebrities were not convinced on the judge’s decision.

The Games and Amusement Board (GAB) has asked the WBO President Francisco Valcarce for review of possible miscalls by the boxing officials during the Pacquiao-Horn match in Brisbane, Australia.

“While we respect the decision, we are constrained to request for a thorough review by the WBO for possible miscalls of the referee where some deductions were not made and of the judges in their judging that have caused varying opinions on their objectivity,” said by GAB quoted by CNN Philippines.

Horn defeated the Filipino boxer via unanimous decision from the judges who scored 117-115, 115-113, and 115-113 in favor of the Australian boxer. But, punching statistics shows that Pacman landed cleaner punches than his opponent.

The WBO judge’s scorecards decision of the judges was in favor of Horn. In the first photo, it can be seen that Judge 1 score 114-113 in favor of Pacquiao, Judge 2 gives them a draw, while the rest of the judges are in favor of Horn.

In the second photo, all the judges’ scorecards show that they are in favor of Horn. But the social media users are not yet convinced and doubting the authenticity of the result.
