Jocellyn Duterte-Villarica spoke regarding the rejection of Gina Lopez’s appointment.
Jocellyn Duterte-Villarica, the sister of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, expressed her reaction towards the rejection of Gina Lopez’s appointment as the secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Recently, Jocellyn Duterte-Villarica took to her social media account a short glimpse on how she knew Gina Lopez.
Based on her post, she personally met the former DENR secretary once and her impression towards Gina is that she is a “person who would do things with a great deal of passion”.
The presidential sister also said that her impression with Gina is that she is “humanitarian at heart”.
However, according to her, she knows that the mentioned “ideals” may not be suited in the political field. The presidential sister compared it to water and oil.
Based on her post, she feels sad to see that those individuals who bear “good intentions” are “wasted”.
According to Jocellyn, she has once wanted to be in public service and she learned her lesson. The said lesson is that politics and public service are different arenas.
She expressed that even the Chief Executive struggles hard for the progress of the country. In her post, the presidential sister stated that she is aware that Gina will not step back from fulfilling her mission due to the rejection of her appointment in the DENR.
Lots of netizens agreed with the stand of the presidential sister regarding the matter.
According to a Facebook user, Gina was once the head of Bantay Bata and her supervision really made an impact as she really desires to serve and not just because she is a sibling of the boss.
Through a comment, there is a netizen who urged Gina to run for senator.
One netizen, in a comment to Jocellyn’s post, stated that if Pres. Duterte would head the DENR, Gina will be a “good adviser or consultant”.
Based on a previous news report, while there are rumors stating that Lopez is a supporter of the Liberal Party that is why she was not backed up by Pres. Duterte this time, one known Duterte supporter, Mocha Uson, expressed her belief that Lopez is not a “dilawan”.
