The alleged ‘story behind’ the rejection of Gina Lopez’s appointment crossed the social media.

GINA – A netizen took to the social media the alleged ‘story behind’ the rejection of the appointment of former Department of Environment and Natural Resources secretary Gina Lopez.

Based on a post on the Facebook account of Arne Gershwin Gogo, there is a ‘story behind’ why the appointment of Lopez was rejected. The netizen claimed that it revolved around ‘politics’.

According to him, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has made a choice and that choice is “not to back up” the former DENR Secretary.

Based on the post, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano kept on questioning the former DENR secretary “on how the judgment was made among those mining companies who passed and failed in the audit.”

The netizen claimed that the mining operation of the Gutierrez, allegedly one of Mar Roxas’ giant contributors during the election campaign, was not stopped. The said mining operation was allegedly in Agusan.

“Well they say that the Lopez’ and the Gutierrez’ are close,” he stated.

According to him, it was just recently when Pres. Duterte knew about it so the allies of the Chief Executive came to a unanimous decision not to support the confirmation of Lopez’s appointment.

He further stated in his post that senators from the Liberal Party supported the confirmation of the DENR appointment of Lopez as “they can all benefit from her.”
