Lopez Reveals Who Allegedly Funded Cayetano’s Political Campaign

Gina Lopez claimed that the Zamora clan funded Sen. Cayetano’s political campaign.

LOPEZ – The former secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Gina Lopez, exposed who allegedly funded Senator Alan Peter Cayetano’s political campaign.

Based on a recent news report of GMA News, the former DENR Secretary claimed that the Senator’s political campaign was funded by the Zamora clan.

“He clearly voted against me, it was very evident. He’s funded by, I mean the Zamoras funded his political campaign, so go figure,” Lopez expressed in an interview with GMA’s News To Go according to the report.

According to the report, in the whole Philippines, the Nickel Asia is the giant among other nickel companies and its president is Manuel Zamora. Manuel’s brother Ronaldo is San Juan lone congressional district’s representative.

The Zamora brothers and Sen. Cayetano have not yet given their sides regarding the claim of Lopez.

Based on a previous news report, Sen. Cayetano was among the 15 senators and representatives who did not support the confirmation of Lopez’s appointment in DENR.

His stand regarding the issue has undeniably sparked questions on the mind of many people as the Senator is known to be a supporter of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte who also supports Lopez.

According to the report, the other senators and representatives who did not vote for Lopez’s confirmation were the following:

  3. Sen. Panfilo Lacson
  4. Rep. Jerry Treñas
  5. Rep. Rodolfo Albano III
  6. Rep. Josephine Sato
  7. Rep. Julieta Cortuna
  8. Rep. Antonio Floirendo
  9. Rep. Abraham Tolentino
  10. Rep. Benhur Salimbangon
  11. Rep. Roy Loyola
  12. Rep. Joel Mayo Almario
  13. Rep. Ronaldo Zamora
  14. Rep. Wes Gatchalian

Meanwhile, on the other side, Representative Sandy Ocampo and Sens. Vicente Sotto, Ralph Recto, Manny Pacquiao, Loren Legarda, JV Ejercito, Bam Aquino, Franklin Drilon, and Francis Pangilinan reportedly supported the confirmation of the former DENR Secretary’s appointment.

  1. Personal interests is the main reason why a lot of these senators and congressmen did not get Sec. Gina Lopez’s confirmation with the CA.these lawmakers were voted by the Filipino people because they promised to serve them with the best of their abilities.but they did not confirm Sec. Lopez because at stake here is their businesses…they already forgotten their promises to their countrymen.it is very rare to find the like of Ms.Gina Lopez who has nothing in her mind but the welfare and to serve the Filipino people and to protect the environment.it is sad to know that she was not given the this chance.even the president who appointed her did not support her campaign.if only this president supported her these lawmakers could have confirm her appointment.
